Educa Borras commits to a sustainable and environmentally friendly model

At Educa Borras we are committed to a sustainable and environmentally friendly business model. For this reason, we have incorporated some modifications in the production of our products:

Vegan printing inks

Since December 2020, all products manufactured at our factory in Sant Quirze del Vallès (Barcelona) use vegetable-based inks. This change in our production represents an improvement and a new approach to a business model that is environmentally friendly.

While traditional inks are composed of resins, solvents and additives, vegetable-based inks are based on renewable materials of organic origin and with almost no release of VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds). Mineral oils from petroleum are eliminated in their formulation and replaced by vegetable oils from flax and soya. In addition, vegetable-based inks do not contain any substances of animal origin, so we could say that they are vegan.

These inks also have the advantage of low odour, they give off less vapour, the waste generated is less hazardous and they are easier to remove.

Recycled paper and cardboard

The paper and cardboard we use at Educa Borras is made from recycled materials and is 100% recyclable. As a company we want to emphasise the importance of producing products that are environmentally friendly.

Educa Borras S.A.U. has been FSC® certified since 2017, which certifies that all the paper and cardboard fibre used to manufacture our puzzles and games in Spain comes from forests managed according to the criteria of the Forest Stewardship Council, which includes, among other measures, sustainable forest management in ecological, social and economic areas.

In this way, we can affirm that, with more sustainable manufacturing, we are contributing to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
